Mr Stratton

I have been teaching since 2002 across a variety of schools in Norfolk and am excited to join the Greyfriars team. I am leading PSHE across the school as well as teaching my Year 5 class. In Wells class we make the most of every learning opportunity and strive be the best we can in everything we do. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, walking, watching football (I’m a keen Norwich fan!) and spending time with my family.

The 100 Mile Club!

Posted on Saturday, January 25th, 2020

We will now be celebrating the children who reach 100 miles in our Golden Mile by adding them to our new display in the corridor!

The 100 Mile Club!

Mrs Emery found out that 100 miles is the same as 3.8 marathons. Can you find any more facts about 100 miles?

If you can, please comment below with your fact or email them to Mrs Emery at c.emery@gf.kwestacademy.com

Paul Sturgess ~ The Tallest Basketball Player in the World!

Posted on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020

The children at Greyfriars spent a fantastic day with the  ex Harlem Globetrotter Paul Sturgess. Paul led a whole school assembly where he shared his story with us all.

He explained how throughout his life he had experienced people making fun of him and how he overcame this to be a world class basketball player. After spending time with each class, he left us with a very important message; “Be happy with who you are and be happy in your skin. If you work hard you can achieve your dreams and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t!”

Here are some photos of our day!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! At lunchtime, adults and pupils tucked in to a wonderful Christmas dinner. Thanks to all those that helped prepare and serve the food.

Cross Country

Posted on Friday, November 22nd, 2019

Well done to all the children who competed in our recent Cross Country competition at West Norfolk Rugby Club.

It was a wet and muddy day, but all the children remained positive and tried their very best!

Conditions and competition was tough, but we had some fantastic results with a number of our children receiving medals, and many of them making it through to the next round of the competition in January.

A huge thank you to all the adults (parents and staff) who came along and helped. I think it took us all a while to warm up! Your help and support is very much appreciated!

Parents Evening and Homework in Wells Class

Posted on Tuesday, November 12th, 2019

Thank you to all the parents who came to see me to discuss their child’s progress so far this year. If you were unable to attend and would like an appointment, please contact me to arrange a meeting.

Also, thank you for your support with your child’s homework – it makes such a difference to your child’s progress. Spellings, Reading Comprehension and Maths are set each week in addition to hearing your child read for 10-15 minutes per night and recording this in their diary.

Holt Hall Residential

Posted on Thursday, September 26th, 2019

Last week 24 pupils from year 5 and 6 went to Holt Hall for 5 days. The weather was glorious and we did loads of different things!

We built and sailed rafts.

We tested our survival skills.

We even cooked our own fish and bread!

And we found our way round Holt Hall grounds with a map … without getting lost!

A fun time was had by all!
