Snettisham Live learning (15/03/2021)
Good morning everyone,
I trust by now you are all aware that we have had to temporarily close Snettisham Class and will once again be moving to Live Learning via Microsoft Teams.
I have scheduled two non-compulsory parental advice meetings for today (15/03/2021) at 8am and 5pm should you wish to speak with me about any concerns you may have. This is a good time for you to practise using the Teams software too and I’m happy to guide with this where I can. I will be calling home over the course of the week to provide more support where necessary.
Live Learning will take place in the mornings, with additional afternoon work available on the Teams platform, as well as Bug Club and Education City. This will be available by this afternoon once I have uploaded to the platforms. Daily Phonics at 9am, Maths at 10am and Talk for Writing (English) at 11am. Sessions will be recorded for later viewing which I will monitor for attendance so please don’t worry if you can’t make the live lesson.
8:45 – Morning Routine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CA3Zz5rHgeY (replace November with March). Log onto Teams and join the meeting under the ‘Phonics’ tab on our class page.
9:00: Live Phonics via Teams. Please have a paper and pen/pencil ready. Teaching the new sound, reviewing familiar sounds, practicing sounds and applying (writing) sounds. Practise the Tricky Words and Alphabet after the lesson: https://youtu.be/ufJVBpFteuc.
10:00: Live Maths via Teams. This week we are continuing to look at 2D and 3D shapes.
11:00: Live Talk for Writing via Teams. Please have a paper and pen/pencil ready. Innovating the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’ – Video performance of retelling and actions available on Teams.
12:00 – Lunchtime
13:00 – Home reading and Phonics books.
14:45 – Listening to a grown up read a story and singing favourite nursery rhymes.
I would really love to celebrate your children’s learning in Friday’s blog. I would love to see their work on Tapestry so, with your expressed permission, I can share it with their friends and other families. As always, If you would like to contact me via email for advice or to arrange a phone call please do so via:
I know this is a difficult time for all of us but let’s make it the best week we can!
