What happens if we eat food that is poisonous or going bad.  watch this clip that explains what happens when you are sick . The stomach pushes the bad food out as quickly as it can so that the body is not harmed by the food or poison.

Discuss with the children that our bodies can be harmed if we don’t eat enough of some foods. E.g. scurvy = lack of vitamin C rickets = lack of vitamin D, lack of iron = anaemia, night blindness =lack of vitamin A.

Can you find out where these vitamins can be found? What foods should we eat to get enough of these vitamins?

vitamin a, b, c, d and iron?
