Brancaster Learning – 22/2/21

Hello Brancaster!  Welcome back to the second part of the Spring term! I hope you have all had a good break and are ready to work hard this half term. It was great to see so much work before the holiday, if you did not manage to share work with me, please try to this week. Thank you.

This half term will be slightly different. I will still be posting the blog here like always, but we will be starting to use Teams as a different way of remote learning for live teaching. You should all have your logins given to you from the office last half term – please check your junk folder in case it is in there! We are going to start off with a nice refresher activity on Wednesday afternoon at 2.30pm with a story to finish off – you should all have got an invite for this. The other learning sessions this week are in each of the daily sections as stated below.

Please make sure that you work your way through the lessons and activities suggested, especially the English activities. Don’t hesitate to email and let me know if you need anything to support your learning. You should all have your maths books now either electronically or a hard copy to work through. I look forward to seeing your completed work. As always, I can be contacted via the school office or on my email – a.sayer@gf.kwestacademy.com.

New activities on Education City can be found at https://go.educationcity.com/

I will be looking out for those keen learners!

This half term, we will be focussing on stories where the character changes during the story. Do you know of any stories like this?  When we are writing these stories, it is important to describe our characters so the reader can imagine what they are like.

Look at the picture of Cinderella. Write all the words we could use to describe her.  Using these words, write a paragraph to describe Cinderella.

Computing

Last half term, we begun to look at programming and using code to help us programme games like Erase All Kittens and Minecraft.

This half term, we will be continuing with this but moving onto a new programme called Scratch which most of you should be familiar with at school!

For this week, I would like you to watch this video of the basics of Scratch to refresh yourselves below:
