Hello 2021 Thornham


Welcome back and Happy New Year

I hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year. Father Christmas visited my house and I was very happy!

So now we starting the Spring Term and again we have lots of fun activities planned in all subjects and we will continue to swim fortnightly as before.

As before, if you are having to stay at home because of shielding or isolating you are expected to continue your learning on line. Please email me if you have any questions J.Stanley@gf.kwestacademy.com or alternatively ring the office and I will call back as soon as I can.

Monday is an Inset Day – So here is what we are learning this week:-

 

This is a suggested timetable for your day:

8.45 – 9.00 – spelling/times table practise

9.00 – 10.00 – Maths

10.00 – 10.15 – Have a break and a well-earned snack!

 10.15 – 10.35 – Phonics/Spellings

10.35 – 11.30 – English

11.30 – 12.00 – Reading and  handwriting practise

LUNCH

Afternoons

Each day work on one of our other subjects , Art, Science, Topic, PE.

You could look at topic or science or explore the  BBC Bitesize   https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/levels/z3g4d2p or National Oak Academy – https://www.thenational.academy/ website where there are hundreds of lessons for you to ‘dip’ into.

Please also log into Education City for activities for Maths English and Science. There won’t necessarily be activities for each subject each week.

 

TUESDAY

Maths

This week we are learning about 2D and 3D shapes.

The next four weeks we will be learning about fairy and traditional tales.

Think about the story of Cinderella (remember the Pantomine before Christmas!)

Write down some notes about the character Cinderella.  Can you add as much detail as possible eg Cinderalla wears a beautiful  blue long dress.

What does she look like? What does she wear? What sort of a person is she.

Who does she live with?

Use the picture of Cinderalla to write up your notes into full sentences.  Describe your character using as much detail as you can.

Remember to think about your handwriting, presentation, sounding out unfamiliar words, keeping you letters all the same size, Capital letters and full stops!
