Holkham Hotshots

Well done to Holkham class again this week for all their successes. We start the week congratulating Dylan on being chosen as musician of the week by Miss Berners.

This week, we were using the glockenspiel to create chords in a tune.

In maths, year 3 have continued to look at the 8x tables in division and multiplication problems. Year 4  have continued to look at perimeter at the start of the week and then they moved on to multiplication and division problems.

In English we started our poetry unit by looking at a poem called the sound collector. Listen to the poem together.

In D.T, we looked at different buildings across the world and wrote a fact file about one of them (we all looked  at the Eiffel Tower as a class)

In Topic, we looked at Hadrian’s Wall and completed a comprehension about it. Why not ask your children what they have learnt?

In R.E., we made our own hunger cloth inspired by the  misereor hunger cloth painting  by Jacques Chery.

In science, we discussed what a fair test is and talked about setting up an experiment to test the best soundproofing materials.

We will carry out the experiment next week.

In P.E. today, we were continuing with our team games of controlling a ball and shooting at a target. We linked this to our targets in school. Unfortunately the weather was not kind so our P.E. was in the school hall.

I am proud of the children who still continue to share their homework with me. Here is some of Imogen’ s work that she completed over the weekend.

Ava has worked hard with her division and multiplication.

She also investigated Hadrian’s Wall and Castle Rising.

Oscar has been busy building a drum and investigating Stonehenge.

This week these children have impressed me by completing work on Education city. Well done!

A quick shout out to Alesha and Nicole for moving up in their tackling tables.

You are stars!!!!!

Please remember to log in and practice at home yourselves.

We have all made it onto the over and above tree.

Here’s looking forward to next week, lets all put everything into our work and see if we can make it onto the over and above tree.

Miss Shaw
