I hope you all had a good weekend and are ready for the challenges of the week a head.

I’ve had my weekly email from BUG CLUB which has told me 13 of you have logged on to read this week. WELL DONE to those children.

WELL DONE to the following children who finished at least one book in the last week:

Nojus, Zainab, Ella-Rae and Lilly.

EdCity WELL DONES go to:

Ella-Rae, Oakley, Nojus, Dolcie and Sofija who completed all 8 tasks set.

Oskar, Melissa and Marion who did some of them.

This Week’s Learning.

Children who are well but have to isolate are expected to continue their learning at home where possible. Please do not get worried  if you cannot complete everything. Do what you can!

This is a suggested timetable for your day:

8.45 – 9.00 – spelling/times table practise

9.00 – 10.00 – Maths

10.00 – 10.15 – Have a break and a well-earned snack!

 10.15 – 10.35 – Phonics

10.35 – 11.30 – English

11.30 – 12.00 – Reading and  handwriting practise

Afternoons

Each day work on one of our other subjects , Art, Science, Topic, PE.

You could look at topic or science or explore the  BBC Bitesize   https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/levels/z3g4d2p or National Oak Academy – https://www.thenational.academy/ website where there are hundreds of lessons for you to ‘dip’ into.

Please also log into Education City for activities for Maths English and Science. There won’t necessarily be activities for each subject each week.

 

Monday

Maths:

This week we will continue Unit 4 about money.

Last week if you were at school we boxed up a story about a rascally girl called Beka who used her mum’s make up to draw on the walls. If you were at home you boxed up your own story.

Write some sentences to describe the character in the story you worked on.

Tuesday

Maths:

Use the link from Monday and look at lesson 7.

Phonics:

Sound is: wh

when, what, which, where, why, whenever, wheel, whisper, white.

English:

Today make sure you have boxed up (planned) your story properly. Make notes of adjectives and verbs you could use to make your story interesting.

Reading/Handwriting:

Carry on with Bug Club from wherever you have got to.

 

Wednesday

Maths:

Use the link from Monday and look at lesson 8.

Phonics:

Sound is: ph

Philip, phonics, dolphin, prophet, elephant, alphabet, telephone.

English:

Write your story as if you were doing a Hot Task.

Reading/Handwriting:

Carry on with Bug Club from wherever you have got to.

 

Thursday

Maths:

Use the link from Monday and look at lesson 9.

Phonics:

Sound is: ew

Blew, chew, grew, drew, crew, screw, brew, flew, threw.

English:

Go over your story and see if there are any ways you can improve it.

Reading/Handwriting:

Carry on with Bug Club from wherever you have got to.

 

Friday

Maths:

Use the link from Monday and look at the end of unit check.

Phonics:

Can someone test you on the words you have practised this week.

English:

Do you think that in “Where the Wild Things Are” Max may have been dreaming. Try to explain your reasons to your grown up.

Reading/Handwriting:

Carry on with Bug Club from wherever you have got to.

Imagine you have been asked to write a class blog page on a topic of your choice.

Design the way it would look. Draw/write it out on a piece of paper.
