Thornham 13th November 2020
A great well done to the whole class this week.
Unfortunately we were unable to swim this week but as I write we are still swimming on Monday morning (16th November).
If your child is swimming this week, please bring your full kit, swimming costume, swimming hat , towel. You may bring googles but these are not essential. For children’s health and safety, earrings will need to be taken out.
This week Thornham Bubble have been learning why we wear poppies and the story of the Unknown Warrior. We sat in silence for two minutes to remember all the soldiers who have died. I am very proud of the children who showed enormous respect. During our Art lesson we made our own poppies. Have a look at some of the ones we created. The children used a template to draw around, cut them out and decorated with tissue paper, glitter and crayons.
PE – We had another great lesson with our sports coach Mrs Woods. This week we practised our throwing and catching skills and aiming at targets. We enjoyed playing games trying to hit a target throwing balls underarm.
Over and Above
I am very pleased to say we have had several children who have gone Over and Above this week…
Isabella – who is working hard learning with her phonics, spellings, handwriting and maths work. She has drawn a fantastic rocket too for her homework!
Olivia for great maths work this week.
Ignas for his great work in phonics working with Mrs Wiggs.
Devon and Violet for their fantastic homework. Here are some pictures.
Here is another copy of the Homework grid – please choose an activity to complete.
