Brancaster Bubble Friday Blog
It’s been a busy first week back and Brancaster Bubble have been working hard.
In maths we have been learning and practising our column subtraction. Here’s a practise sheet if you would like to do some more at home.
In English we have been learning about creating suspense! We have been extending our vocabulary and learning new words – do you know what quivering and rippled means? We do!
In Science we have started our new topic on Sound. This week we discovered that sound was made by something vibrating. We explored different instruments and looked at the different vibrations! We made quite a lot of noise but had lots of fun.
In Design and Technology we are looking at different structures this half term. On Thursday we competing against each other to see who could make the tallest tower – it had to stand up on its own and we could only use 5 pieces of paper and some masking tape. Rueben and Josh came 1st with Sonny and Nichita coming 2nd!! We had some amazing towers and it’s great to see the budding engineers in our class.
In music this week we started to learn the ukulele. The children learnt the different parts and how to hold them. Fantastic concentration from all the children meant we had a great lesson. Well done to Aris and Borislav who were named as the Musicians of the Week this week!
The children have wowed me this week with their effort on Ed. City. More than half our class have completed the activities! Well done to Hallie who completed them all on the first day!!!!!! Amazing!
I have also started to see some brilliant homework! Well done to those of you who have made a start on the Homework Grid. A paper copy was sent home at the beginning of the week but here it is again if you haven’t seen it!
Well done to George for sending in his homework this week!
Make sure you take a look at our blog on Monday to find out what we will be learning next week!
Have a great weekend, keep well and stay safe!
