Thornham Bubble Friday 16th October
Good afternoon Thornham Bubble
I cannot believe how quick this week has gone! Maybe it’s because we have been so busy with our learning.
In English we have now completed our Hot Task and what a difference to the Cold Task. We are now leaving spaces between our words, sounding our familiar words and working hard with our letter formation. Our writing is much neater and smaller!! Well done to everyone for having a go.
In phonics we have now completed reviewing all the phase 3 sounds and ready to start learning phase 5. You might be wondering about phase 4! We will revisit phase 4 later!
In maths we have been working hard counting to larger numbers and we can now write numbers to 30. We are working on numbers to 40.
A special mention to Callum who is able to write 34 and say how many tens and how many ones there are. A well deserved note home.
We have also started to learn about Part-Whole model and we investigated different ways to make 5 and 10.
On Monday we had great fun looking for minibeasts in our bubble area. We found lots of different minibeasts which was fantastic as soon they will be hibernating. We have been identifying micro-habitats and we can now say where we might find different minibeasts. We showed our results in a pictogram.
In Topic we had lots of discussions about the Artic and Antarctic we will continue to study these Continents next week.
As part of our PHSE and Phoenix Curriculum we have been identifying our different our emotions and how to manage them. We have talked about how it is ok to feel different emotions positive or negative.
