A great week in Thornham 9/10/20

Hello Thornham

We have had another great week in Thornham Bubble.  We have been working very hard in maths this week with lots of counting in ones, twos and tens.  We have also been practising writing bigger numbers to 30 as well as learning ordinal numbers to 20.

Year 2 children have been learning about place value of 2 digit numbers.

In English we made up of own class story ‘ Diary of a Fairy’. We had a go at writing our story. We are now ready to write our own stories next week.

We have continued to recap our phase 3 sounds and high frequency words – we are getting much quicker at reading these at sight.

We have been focussing on ‘Being Kind’ this week and part of our Art lesson we created some lovely posters.

In Science we have started to learn about habitats. This week we have learnt what a habitat is and what humans need to survive.

In computing we have been learning how to stay safe when using the internet – We have been thinking of ‘Five to Tell’.

I am really pleased to say three children have been over and above this week –

Frankie and Gracey for being excellent role models whilst using our reading area respectively.

Mollie-May for her excellent maths work.

Have a fantastic weekend.

Mrs Stanley
