Thornham Bubble Friday 25th September
Hello Thornham Bubble
Another great week completed with lots of learning and activities.
We have been busy in phonics recapping on the phase 3 sounds – ng. ai, ee and igh. We have also been reviewing high frequency words in phase 2 and the phase 3 tricky words – he, she, we, be and me.
In Power Maths we have been continuing to count in tens and counting larger numbers to 100.We have also been finding out one more and one less for numbers to 20 and year two children have been finding one more and one less for bigger numbers to 50.
A special mention to Wyatt who has been brilliant in Maths this week.
In English we have started to learn our model text ‘ Diary of an Astronaut’. We have already made good progress learning the features of a diary, time words and learning new vocabulary.
In science we have been learning about things that are living and non- living. We discussed the difference and the features of a living and non living thing.
In our Topic lesson, we have been learning about what we can do to ‘Save our Planet’. We have learnt we can do lots of things to help such as recycle, use of solar panels, wind farms, grow our own food, turn out lights when not needed and compost our food waste.
In PE we have continued to develop our ball skills – catching and throwing.
Here are a few pictures of our work from the past week!

Continue working on the homework grid. I have already seen some of the children’s work. Please email pictures for me to look at and share with the class.
Have a great weekend!
