Welcome to a brand new week – Brancaster Class

Good morning Brancaster Class, welcome to a brand new week! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and enjoyed the sunshine.

Well done again to those of you who either shared you work with me last week or completed the Education City activities (some of you did both!) Here is your new Home Learning Grid for this week Year 3 and 4. Make sure you have a go at some of the activities.

Education City

I have updated the classwork page n Education City. There are lots of activities for you to try so make sure you log on and have a go. Remember to try your best and persevere! If you don’t get over 70% have another go and try again. Don’t give up!

Power Maths

You should now be working your way through Textbook C. I expect you to be roughly on Unit 14 – Statistics so I have included some videos below to help you. If you aren’t yet here or you have already completed this section then please don’t worry!

Here is a link to  Textbook C  .

This week you will be looking at statistics (data and information). Here’s a great video which introduces you to charts, tables and pictograms!

Here’s a link to some data handling games and activities on Topmarks, have fun!

English

This week we will be innovating (creating) and writing our hot task. Don’t forget to take your time over planning your story and remember to look back on our model text.

Here are some story plans to help you with the planning stage. The first one sticks very close to the model text but you can ‘step away’ from the text if you’re feeling brave! I am looking forward to seeing your stories.

Science

This week there is a great chocolate experiment (on the Home Learning Grid) for you to have a look at, I’m looking forward to seeing your results.

Here’s a video which explains ‘matter’

I think you should have lots to keep you busy this week but don’t forget to take a look at  Daily Lessons on BBC Bitesize   if you would like some additional activities.

I hope you all have a wonderful week. Make sure you send me your work in time for my blog on Friday!

Take care and stay safe
