Holkham’s Friday Celebrations (12/06/20)
Good afternoon Holkham,
I hope had a fantastic week and are looking forward to the weekend. Remember you can still use this weeks ‘Home Learning Grid’ over the weekend if you’d like to – find it here…Year 3 and 4 8th June 2020. Don’t forget that you can find your new story text in Monday’s blog. There you will also supporting links and videos to Science, Maths and Topic. Don’t forget to read for 10 minutes every day with your grown ups and challenge yourselves with comprehension questions at the end of each page.
Borislav had a busy week last week, researching all about ‘The Celts’ and ‘Boudicca’, I think his wanted poster for Boudicca was especially brilliant. He was also working on recognising the different types of matter, wrote his three wish ideas for his ‘Cold Task’ and has been working hard on his PowerMaths! Well done Borislav.
George has been working very hard too. Practising his spellings, working on subordinate conjunctions and designing a fizzy drink. He’s even written Roman Numerals to 20 and researched catapults, before designing his own sling shot. Great Job George!
David has been persevering with his learning this week. Working hard on his boxing up, subordinate conjunctions and fizzy drink matter research and design. He also produced a fantastic piece of work on Roman Catapults with a great illustration. Thank you David!
As you know, last week Greyfriars Academy proceeded with an extended opening to children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 6, following Government guidelines. Unfortunately, we now know that opening will not extend to Year 3/4 pupil unless they are part of a key-working family until September. Obviously, I’m very upset that Holkham Class will not be back together in person but in spirit we truly are a community. Please contact me if I can do anything to support your child’s learning further. Also you can contact the school office if you would like anymore information.
With the above in mind, I will continue my blogging and video messages on a Monday and Friday, with a short video message included each Friday. You will still receive your child’s ‘Home Learning Grids’ as usual on a Monday morning. Please note it might take me slightly longer to reply to E-mail enquiries.
Hope you have a great weekend,
