Heacham and Snettisham 19th May 2020
It’s another busy day here – I don’t know if I’ll have time to go back to school!
(I’m only joking, of course I will!)
Today I’d like you to think about things you really like. Can you find a list of ten things you really like? I don’t just mean a little bit, I mean a LOT! Can you describe them?
Here’s some of mine.
I like eating hot fish and chips with too much vinegar on them, on the sea wall at Hunstanton, with a really hot cup of tea, on a windy autumn day when there aren’t a lot of other people around.
I like walking Dexter in the cemetery in the early morning, when the sun is coming up over the hedges and the dew is shining on the grass.
I like snuggling on the sofa with a duvet and a hot cup of tea, reading an exciting book.
I like the smell and the crunchy sound of hot toast with marmite on it, and taking it outside to eat in the cool garden with a hot cup of tea.
Why don’t you have a try? Think about things that make you really happy, and where you are when they are happening. Some people call it their ‘happy place.’ and its somewhere they can go in their head if they are feeling a bit unhappy – they just think of all the happy things instead!
There’s a lovely song from a musical all about it. Click the picture to hear it.
As usual, there are BBC lessons. Today, it’s measuring things without a ruler, and all about Australia! How exciting! I’ve got friends who live over there, and I’d love to go and see them.
Right, I’m going to go and get on with the things I need to get on with, but before I do that, I’m going to make a cup of tea and finish off my list of favourite things.
