Can you keep a birthday secret? (Obviously you can show your grownups!)
Soon, it’s Ffion’s birthday. She’s my sister’s little girl, so I’m her aunty. Ffion really likes horses, especially Tango, who is my sister’s pony that is becoming Ffion’s pony. I don’t like horses, but us all liking different things is a good thing.
You can see, Ffion loves Tango.
I asked my sister what Ffion would like for her birthday and she said a new numnah.
Does anyone know what a numnah is? I didn’t know. I had to look it up. It turns out it’s like a blanket that goes under the saddle. I don’t know what it does. If anyone knows what it does, please email me! Teachers don’t know everything but we do like to learn.
So I’m going to order her this one. Can you see it’s got their names on it? I also chose a silver unicorn to go on it because Ffion is 4 and unicorns are amazing.
But don’t tell her! I love a birthday secret, and secrets like that are ok. It’s an exciting feeling isn’t it! If anyone asks you to keep a secret that feels not ok, don’t keep it. Tell a grownup, and they’ll let you know if it’s an ok secret. It’s important to talk about all our feelings with other people, especially our not-ok feelings.
Here are the BBC lessons for today. I like the one about using ‘and’ in a sentence. Have a try and let me know how you get on.
On Friday, we are going on another school trip. I won’t tell you where yet, but we’ll just need the bus for this one. Next Friday we’ll need the aeroplane again!
Also, you know how I like to celebrate special days? This week should be National Doughnut Week! I think this is my favourite so far…
Take care, and wash your hands,
