Blakeney’s Blog Wednesday 22nd April
I hope you are keeping healthy and doing lots of activity at home. Have any of you been doing Joe Wicks’ PE sessions on Youtube? We had a go in school on Monday – the kids loved it. We really enjoyed the quiz questions he does while exercising too. Make sure you have a go if you haven’t already.
You should all have had a chance to look at the new Home Learning Grid (HLG) for this week. If there is anything you don’t understand, make sure you email me and ask about it. Don’t forget that the Power Maths textbook has been provided for you too, which will help you to understand and do your practice book work. Other resources you need have also been provided (see Blakeney’s Blog Monday 20th April).
News from Blakeney
Your classmate ‘P’ in the photo is still hard at work, following the HLG and sending in photos or examples to me. I’m very proud of your determination to continue learning during this strange time P. Well done – you are definately on the Over and Above board in my head! I love the stove in the background btw 🙂
HOW TO BE A STORY DETECTIVE (writing inspiration)
For all those who know the author, Alex T. Smith (I have definitely seen some of you reading his Claude books at school) – he has a great online video for you if you want to learn how to be a story detective. From finding stories hidden by his grandad to listening in on conversations around him, you can discover how Alex T. Smith turns himself into a ‘Story Detective’ to find ideas for his books. Click on the link:
Now, although you won’t be able to get story ideas when you ‘walk to school’, for example, you will be able to get ideas by observing your family or watching the news etc. So if you do have a go, please do share your story with me and the rest of the class by emailing it to me. I look forward to reading it!
