Blakeney’s WW2 Operations Room
This term, Blakeney class members demonstrated great insight and problem-solving when working as analysts in a WW2 Operations Room. First they had to assess Britain and Germany’s relative strengths and weaknesses by analysing data on the army, air force and navy for both countries after Dunkirk. At this point, they broke into two groups – Germany and Britain – with Britain deciding how to defend their country against invasion and Germany deciding how to use their strengths to attack. I have to say, it was pretty impressive to see the results – they made the exact same decisions that the military leaders of Germany and Britian did in WW2, and the battle that commenced in the classroom was the Battle of Britain – exactly as it played out in real life!
