Our busy week
This week we have been swapping places with Mrs Coleman and ‘being teacher’. We have been really brave taking it in turns to stand in front of the class and retell our class story of Dear Zoo. We all discovered that it made us feel nervous when our friends were looking and listening but our teachers were very proud of us for being brave and confident.
In our Maths circle times we have been thinking about how we can sort objects. On Monday, Baby Elephant and Big Bunny were having an argument about how they could sort shapes. We helped them. We then found out all about Venn Diagrams. Our teachers were very impressed when we explained that we can overlap our sorting hoops if our objects belonged in more than one group. We sorted fruit and toys but we also had some wooden fruit from the home corner that went in both sets!
On Tuesday we had a visit from ‘Sarah the Library Lady’. She read us 2 stories; Owl Babies and The Hole in the Zoo. We also sang some songs. Lots of us are now excited to visit the library with our families.
Also on Tuesday, we had our first school photo taken. We all had a go at our cheesiest smiles! We all had a slip in our book bags on Tuesday afternoon with a link to our pictures online. We hope you like our pictures.
At snack time we have started using knives to cut our own fruit and we serve our own refreshments too!
