The week ahead – 18th September to 22nd September

What’s coming up this week?

In Numeracy we will be carrying on with developing a solid understanding of number before we move onto addition and subtraction.  In our Early Morning Work, we will be doing a lot of counting, and this week we will start putting our objects into arrays to make them easier to count.

We are starting a new Literacy text “Charlie’s Walk” and we will learn the text, and use it to help us write better settings for our own stories, using adjectives to describe the noun.

Our topic is moving on from the introduction to our first inventors – the Wright Brothers!  What a clever pair of chaps they were!  This week we are looking at where they were, what they invented and how they invented it, as well as using the evidence in front of us to tell us how we know this happened a long time ago.  This is the clip that we’ll be using to help us. In science, the messiness of last week is replaced with sensible observations and questioning about objects, the materials they are made of, and why that material was chosen.  We will begin to answer the important question “If everyone loves chocolate, why aren’t windows made of it?”

Our computing topic will be an on-line safety lesson, and an introduction to EducationCity for homework.

R.E. will be looking at why we are special as individuals.  Next week we will be looking at who we think is special around us.

Monday – Library and PE

Tuesday – Swimming

It’s going to be a busy week!
